Your initial dental examination in Essen

Thorough diagnostics for new patients

Your first contact is a free telephone consultation. We discuss your concerns, any further costs and the next steps. We usually allow around 90 minutes for the initial examination. We consider not only an individual tooth, but also the connections between your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, muscles, function, appearance and medical history.

01

First, we listen

Your symptoms, wishes, previous experiences, general medical conditions and medications are our starting point. Please also tell us what matters most to you about treatment or what concerns you.

02

We assess the findings systematically

Depending on the question being investigated, the examination may include an HD intraoral scan, photographs, assessment of the gums and tooth-supporting tissues, functional examinations, additional measurements to detect caries and X-ray diagnostics where medically indicated.

Not every procedure is needed for every person. We choose the diagnostic steps to suit your situation and explain their purpose.

03

Turning information into a clear overall picture

We interpret the findings, show you the images and discuss the connections. Complex questions may require a separate analysis before we explain the possible treatment approaches in detail.

04

You make an informed decision

You receive clearly explained treatment options, including appropriate alternatives. As far as the diagnostic findings allow, we discuss the sequence, expected timeframe and costs before treatment begins.
